Undergraduate Leadership Ventures

Ana Cornell

Leadership Ventures equipped my team with the necessary problem solving skills to tackle all of our team's interpersonal conflicts. We are forever thankful for the opportunity, and recommend the program to everyone needing the confidence to lean in and learn how to have a difficult conversation.”

Ana Cornell, Biomedical Engineering (Class of '22)

Would you like to unlock your team’s full potential?

Each year, the Center for Leadership accepts three teams into the Leadership Ventures Program, which is specifically geared to help new teams, existing teams with new projects and groups that are taking on significant change.

The three student teams are each awarded with five sessions of team coaching spaced throughout the Spring Quarter a grant of up to $2,000 after the quarter ends.

Previous participants include:

Requirements

  • Group size: 3-6 members
    • A maximum of 6 members from each group can participate in the program, typically executive leadership for larger groups. (Exceptions can be made, as mutually agreed between CFL and your group).
    • Comprised of full-time enrolled Northwestern undergraduate students
  • Group status: Your group does not need to be university recognized or already established, you simply must be either:
    • A new organization getting set up in the past year
    • An existing team taking up a new project outside of what you have done in the past
    • A team going through significant change
  • Student participants must be available for 4 one-hour meetings with their Leadership Coach throughout the quarter; this time is separate from regular scheduling your team might have for board meetings or group check-ins

Applications for the 2025 program will open in January 2025 and decisions will be announced prior to Spring Break. With additional questions, e-mail us at lead@northwestern.edu.
